Folkwang

Instrument Fund

With the Folkwang Instrument Fund, the Folkwang University Foundation and the Folkwang University of the Arts would like to strengthen the craft as well as offer music students the best possible conditions for the transition from their studies to a career by providing them with a suitable instrument. The guiding principle is to offer all students, wherever possible, the same conditions for their studies and to provide them with the help they particularly need. In addition to financial support in the form of a scholarship, an instrument suitable for an orchestra is another basic requirement for artistic development.

Two violins from Stefan-Peter Greiner, delivered in May 2018, form the basis of the fund. The instrument fund will be successively expanded through the purchase of further instruments that will increase its value.

The instruments are on loan to two special Folkwang talents from Prof. Mintcho Mintchev's class in the 2019 summer semester. Eunseo Kwon and Mariana Hernández Gonzales are in their final year.
